CONSTRUCTION OF A FITNESS CENTER
The fitness center is equipped with a reception and services for users and instructors and technical rooms; the intervention is located in the hinterland of Milan.
The activity is entirely housed in the basement of a building, used at the ground floor, as school canteen.
The structure, built with in-situ concrete and precast, was entirely surrounded by a external thermal insulation, in part against the ground and in part to the outside, in correspondence with the input and emergency stairs.
The windows are in aluminium with double safety glazing, low emittance coating and argon gas (Uw = 2.0 W/mq K, sound insulation 43 dB).
To give continuity to the insulation were adopted several important measures: the insulation has been turned up on the padding of the openings, until you find the wooden frame and the frame, also the input scale and underground windows were detached from the building, so that thermal insulation maintains its continuity in all critical points, avoiding the formation of thermal bridges also in correspondence of moldings, floors and foundations; was provided a substantial layer of insulation on the horizontal plane, towards the crawl space.
For the isolation of foundations, were evaluated two solutions: the first which involves placing the insulation only on the vertical walls, the second, more complex, it provides to position the insulation also under the foundation; after assessing the pros and cons of the two solutions, we opted for the first solution.
The production of heat is entrusted to the central condensing boiler placed at the service of the whole building complex, fueled with natural gas, with separate accounting for the heat. The emission of heat takes place by means of underfloor heating and some towel radiators, placed in the locker rooms. The building also has a cooling and dehumidification system, which uses an air treatment unit with cross flow at high performance and a refrigeration - heat pump, both located in coverage.
The hot water is produced by a combined system: central heat and solar panels combined with a vacuum buffer tank of 500 liters.
It is expected that the building will reach the energy class C, with Cened Protocol.
