ENERGY IMPROVEMENT OF BUILDINGS

CONSTRUCTION OF A SCHOOL CANTEEN
An example in Brianza.
The new building is a school canteen located in the hinterland of Milan.
On the ground floor are located the dining rooms and the kitchen, while in the basement are placed the pantry and locker rooms, and a separate area, where will be built a fitness facility.
The structure, built with in-situ concrete and precast, was entirely surrounded by a external thermal insulation, with the addition of insulated boxes for external solar shadings, useful to prevent overheating in summer. The windows are in aluminum with double safety glazing, low emittance coating and argon gas (Uw = 2.0 W/mq K, sound insulation 43 dB). The insulation has been turned up on the padding of the openings, until you find the wood frame. This solution allows you to give continuity to the thermal insulation even at the critical points of the wall, avoiding the formation of thermal bridges also on the cornices, on the floors and on foundations, avoiding energy expenditure and condensation, land suitable for the formation of mold.
The production of heat is entrusted to the central condensing boiler service center of the entire school, fueled with natural gas, with separate accounting for the heat; the emission of heat is via radiant floors in the dining halls and radiators in the kitchen and in all other service areas. The hot water is produced by a combined system: central heat and solar panels combined with a vacuum buffer tank of 500 liters.
The intervention has been certified with Cened Protocol, placing the building in class C with a primary energy demand for heating of 19.3 kW h/mc a.
The works were completed in 2010.
