ENERGY IMPROVEMENT OF BUILDINGS

DETACHED BUILDING WITH LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION
The project concerns the design of a detached residential building with low energy consumption.
The client, wanted to have a comfortable building and despite the inconvenient location of the available lot, wanted his new home able to enjoy all the natural light available.
According to this indication, the project activity was first turned to the collection of climate and orographic data, with particular attention to the shape of the horizon. After examining the data collected, it was possible to define the geometry of the building.
The adoption of the hexagonal form, respond to the need for walls with different orientation, gathering most of the radiation available during the winter and was inspired by the shape of the cells of the hive, optimized for the most beneficial relationship between the available volume and the surface of the walls.
The building technology involves the use of walls of wood panels XLam, with insulation exterior wood fiber and gypsum fiber for inner coating, with the interposition of wood wool.
The adoption of this type of construction, together with the choice of window frames with a high isolation, and the presence of a system of controlled mechanical ventilation, has allowed to reach an energy classification in class A, according to the KlimaHaus Protocol, with the + that distinguishes the adoption of constructive solutions with natural materials and low environmental impact.
