The non-invasive imaging techniques are very useful, both to verify the presence of construction problems, and for determine some characteristics of the existing buildings, with a view to their improvement.

Surveying and recording of relative humidity and temperature
In the event of any problems on existing buildings (mold or condensation) in addition to the characteristics of the building elements, it is often necessary to know also what are the real environmental conditions. For this purpose, it is very useful to provide a survey campaign of temperature and humidity, which can be protracted for several days; data collection is done by placing small electronic devices (as data logger), in certain points of the areas to be surveyed.
The same devices are also useful to define the profiles of the actual interior climate of the buildings, in order to improve the reliability of the energy diagnosis.

Check the air tightness of buildings (blower door test)
The absence of air drafts is an indispensable feature for comfortable buildings.
The proof of tightness is therefore very important to check if you want to get reliable results on this front; the test becomes practically mandatory in the presence of a system of controlled mechanical ventilation, in this case, the presence of air infiltration, as well as creates thermal losses and economic losses, prevents to maintain the balance between supply air and extracted.
Some certification protocols (Climate House and Passive House) require the execution of the casing leak test, also establishing the maximum permissible infiltration.

In the context of non-invasive tests we can also find thermographic inspection.
Thanks to this technology it is possible to capture the infrared radiation emitted by each object, and display the temperature in a predefined color scale.
This technique is useful in many areas: in the field of construction-energy, in the presence of a certain temperature difference between inside and outside, it is possible to highlight the differences of heat flows, which we can occur in the picture with different colors, identifying defects or details that need improvement, for example the presence of thermal bridges.
